Emma Presley

エマ・プレスリー

Emma Presley is a Chinese American transracial adoptee currently making work in her hometown of Little Rock, Arkansas. Her work is heavily influenced by Chinese and Japanese cultures and often about death. She used to be a radio DJ and loves the number 12. She is currently studying for the N5 of the Japanese Language & Proficiency Test.

Emma has a BA in Studio Art and a BS in Civil Engineering.
While her medium is ever changing, she is focused on calligraphy, composition, and poetry. She interprets traditional Asian aesthetics with the honesty of being raised in the American South. In her studies, she has found there exists a certain humor and sincerity in learning about her Eastern heritage through a Western lens.
